Best Hatch Green Chile “Square Pizza” Discovered in Denver, Colorado

By May 30, 2018September 28th, 2018No Comments

Hey guys, have you heard about Lechuga’s? I just had the best Green Chile “square” pizza I’ve ever tasted! We’re talking really authentic Hatch flavor, and I’m a Hatch Green Chile snob so trust me on this one.

If you’ve never been there, Lechuga’s is a 1970s family-style Italian restaurant that has that old Chicago / Brooklyn feel. But unlike a lot of those crowded, noisy eateries, this Highlands neighborhood café is quiet and relaxed. The menu includes all the essentials of an old-timey traditional Italian restaurant where modest prices come with down-home menu options like Meatballs and Spaghetti. I like the simple wine list: red or white. LOL! Both are perfectly drinkable table wines.

Though they’re known primarily for their Hatch Green Chile “Square” Pizza, their Sausage Canolis are to die for. Portions are huge so go with an appetite!

Did you know Lechuga’s started as a bakery over 50 years ago? No wonder their crust is out-of-the-realm of other pizza crusts. It’s worth every carb!

So next time you feel like truly authentic Italian food and don’t want the hustle bustle of hipster-style noise, check out Lechuga’s. You won’t be disappointed.
